Power connector choices: stop treating every locking connector as interchangeable
IEC, PowerTwist-style and locking outdoor connectors each have a place, but visual similarity is not proof of compatibility.

Power connectors inspire strong opinions because crews depend on them every day. The useful discussion is not which connector is universally best, but which is correct for the equipment and application.
Compatibility must be explicit
Do not assume connectors mate safely because their shape or trade description appears similar. Check the exact manufacturer, series, rating and approved counterpart.
Input and output are different jobs
Keying and colour coding can identify direction, but equipment documentation remains the master reference.
Environment changes the choice
Touring durability, breaking capacity, ingress protection and whether connection under load is permitted are separate considerations.
The custom cable system blocks invalid builds. Anything outside verified rules is routed to Prolight rather than guessed.
